Thomas Pietrzak is a full professor at the Université de Lille. Since 2023, he is the deputy director for finances of the Computer Science department. His research is about Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Virtual and Augmented Reality (VR/AR) and haptics. He is particularly interested in interaction techniques and interactive devices that leverage the human cognitive and sensorimotor skills. He conducts his research in the LOKI team, part of Inria Lille - Nord Europe and CRIStAL, CNRS UMR 9189. Before this, he was a post-doctoral researcher at the Dynamic Graphics Group at the University of Toronto under supervision by Ravin Balakrishnan, and post-doctoral research at Telecom ParisTech supervised by Éric Lecolinet. He obtained his Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches (HDR) in 2022 at the Université de Lille, and his Ph.D. at the University of Lorraine, supervised by Benoît Martin and Isabelle Pecci.
